Best Starting Covers

Let’s talk about the best and most valuable starting covers in the Starfield game. In Starfield, wearable items or armor are called Spacesuits. A set of cover items includes a helmet, main cover (Spacesuit), and backpack (Pack). Each type of clothing we choose for our character has different components that we need to pay attention to. These characteristics should match our game style so that we can find the most suitable build for our character and playstyle. Now, let’s dive into the best covers you can get for free right from the start of the game!

Mantis Cover and Spacecraft

The Mantis cover set is one of the five powerful and practical armors in the game. Once you obtain it, you can easily progress through the last story quest without needing any other cover items. The best part is that you can upgrade it! To start The Mantis quest, you need to defeat a soldier from the Spacers faction and search his backpack. Completing this quest not only gives you a free cover but also grants you a very powerful spaceship for free!

After finding the Secret Outpost letter, you must open it to reveal the location of the secret base. This base is located on the planet Denebola I-B of the Denebola system. But be careful, there are relatively strong enemies waiting for you there. It’s better to explore other planets, level up your character, and find good weapons before entering the base.

If you encounter tough enemies during The Mantis stage, don’t worry! Try your best to defeat them because not only will you receive a valuable reward at the end of the quest, but you’ll also obtain valuable items by defeating various enemies along the way.

As you progress through the quest, you’ll encounter an interesting puzzle. The solution to this puzzle can be found in one of the audio files you may come across. If you can’t find the audio file, remember that you need to cross the English alphabet to spell out the word “TYRANNIS” to reach the exit without triggering the automatic laser guns in the area.

By overcoming the challenges in this stage, you’ll earn a powerful cover and an amazing spacecraft. The Mantis quest is one of those Bethesda quests that not only tells a great story but also rewards you with something truly valuable.

Constellation Mark 1 Cover

You can obtain one of the strongest covers in the game within the first hour of playing Starfield! The Constellation Mark 1 cover is an incredibly powerful wearable set that will keep you well-protected for the majority of your Starfield adventures. To find this awesome cover, you need to enter the headquarters of the Constellation Group, Constellation Lodge.

Once inside the Constellation headquarters, head to the right and enter the research and development department located in the basement. Keep going through the underground corridors until you reach the research and development department. On your left, you’ll find a corridor that leads to the room you’re looking for.

In that room, you’ll see a mannequin inside a glass case at the end of the path. To open the glass case, you’ll need to upgrade your skill in using Digipicks to the Master level. But the coolest part is that you can interact with the mannequin and take the clothes it’s wearing for yourself. It’s important to note that this cover is different from the set of cover items provided by Sarah Morgan in the Constellation Wing. It’s an early and extremely powerful version of the same clothing.

The Coolest Weapons in Starfield

Katana

If you’re into melee weapons, the Starfield game has a really cool one called the Katana. It’s a smaller version of the famous Katana swords and is perfect for players with Melee builds, especially those who chose the Ronin background. To get the Katana, you’ll need the Pickpocketing skill. But don’t worry if you don’t have it yet, you can still get the weapon. First, travel to Neon City and head to the Ebbside area in the back alleys on the right side of the city. Look for a shop called Frankies Grab and Go. If you have the Pickpocketing skill, pick the pocket of the sales clerk to get a Seukguh Syndicate Key Card. Then, use the stolen card to open the back door of the shop. Inside, you’ll find the Katana in a yellow box in the research and development department. Just be careful not to get caught by the guard!

Fiscal Quarter Weapon

For those who love rifle shooting and intense combat, the Fiscal Quarter is a fantastic weapon. You’ll receive it from Walter Stroud after completing the quest “All That Money Can Buy” in the main story line of Starfield.

Justifier Weapon

The Justifier is a powerful long-range rifle. If you’re skilled with rifles and sniper rifles, this weapon will be perfect for you. Complete the Hammer Falls mission from the Freestar Collective faction to gain access to this gun.

Sir Livingstone Gun

The Sir Livingstone Gun, along with the Old Earth Pistol, may not be the best statistically, but if you’ve focused on improving your handgun skills, they can turn you into an astronaut John Wick. The Sir Livingstone Gun has a high rate of fire and deals significant damage to enemies. To get this gun, choose the Kid Stuff Trait when designing your character. After joining the Constellation faction and visiting your family, your father will give you this gun as a gift.

Keelhauler Pistol

The Keelhauler Pistol is another awesome sidearm for players who excel in using pistols. Complete the Echoes From the Past side quest, which becomes available after entering the systems under the control of the United Colonies faction and passing the Deep Cover side quest, to obtain this weapon.

Peacekeeper Weapon

The Peacekeeper is a fantastic rifle that you can get by exploring the Altair system. Eventually, you’ll receive a Distress Signal from Private Mahoney. Follow the signal to activate the side mission named Groundpounder. Complete this mission to obtain the Peacekeeper weapon.

In addition to the weapons mentioned above, there are other powerful weapons in the game like the Gallows Reach Rifle, Unrestrained Vengeance Laser Rifle, Experiment A-7 Shotgun, The Last Priest Weapon, and Eternity’s Gate Laser Gun. These weapons are obtained by completing special story missions in the main story line. They are incredibly strong and efficient, but we won’t spoil the story for you. Finish the main story line, and you’ll definitely get your hands on these amazing weapons. Now it’s your turn! If you know of any other cool and powerful weapons in Starfield, share your experiences with us!
